Lessons: Type 1
What we'll be working on:
Basic pottery techniques will be taught to create your own wheel-thrown pieces.  
These techniques will include weighing out the clay, wedging,
centering, and throwing.  
Pieces being made on the wheel will be plates, cylinders, bowls, mugs, and more.
After your pieces are made, we'll work on glazing.  This is an
on going lesson over
the course of many sessions that will cover the entire process.  

When:
Individual and/or group classes are available when each of our schedules work out.
Classes can be scheduled year round.  Hours available to meet: 8am to 6pm.
Mon-Sat.


How Much:
$45.00 per 25lbs of clay. This includes both firings, the cost of glaze,
handling, and other costs.
The hourly rate includes unique one-on-one instruction for an in-depth lesson,
a last second rescue, or advice what to do next.

One Person: $12.00/hr
Two People: $8.00/hr per person
Three People: $7.00/hr per person
Four to Nine: $6.00/hr per person
More than Nine:

Other Information:
Two - Nine people lessons can divide the 25lbs between themselves
or buy their own clay separately.

FMCP only has one wheel at this time. So one person can be on the wheel and the
other
person(s) can work on a non-wheel project or just watch.


What you need to bring:
Come with your work clothes on, a smile, and a project you would like to work on.  
Towels, sponges, and basic clay tools will be provided.  
Students may bring their own tools.
Students will be expected to clean up their own work area after each lesson.

Big Group Lessons: Type 4
What we'll be working on:
2-3hr session which includes a demonstration on the potters wheel
Each person will make a piece on the wheel (half a pound of clay),
Each person will make something out of a half pound slab of clay.
Then each person can pick out a one solid glaze color for each item that they made.
 
Come back in a couple of weeks to pick up finished pieces.

Minimum people: 10
Maximum people: 20

Big Group lessons are available when each of our schedules work out.
Lessons can be scheduled year round.  Hours available to meet: 8am to 6pm.
Mon-Sat.

Cost:
$16 per person

Other Information:
FMCP only has one wheel at this time. So one person can
be on the wheel and the other

Also, some details can be altered to fit the needs of the group.  
The cost could change on the variables of what the group wants.

Girl Scouts: Three Sessions
The cost was a little more than the regular group rate because they
glazed their own pieces for a total of three trips to the studio.
First Session:
They created a piece on the wheel & made items out of a slab of clay.

Second Session:
They picked out the glaze color for their piece that they made on the wheel & Tyler
glazed the pieces.  Then they glazed their slab items under supervision.

Third Session:
Picked up their finished pieces.

One-time quick lesson: Type 2
  • For $5.00 you can try to make a one
    half (1/2) pound ball of clay into a
    vessel.
  • Pick a single glaze color and get it
    high fired for an additional $10.00.  
    We will call when your very own
    stoneware piece is complete.

  • Call or email to set up a time

Note:(This is not an on going lesson,  it's just
to see if you want to take lessons or just to say
that you tried it. Time frame for this lesson,
10 to 15min.)

Want a more in depth
one-time lesson? Type 3
  • Get one pound of clay for $5.00:
    That one pound can be split into two
    separate balls of clay to make two
    vessels instead of one.

  • This type of lesson only involves
    making the piece itself, not the
    entire process which takes many
    sessions.

  • Pick out a single glaze color for
    each piece you create.

  • One person: $12.00/hr
